*THE THINGS WE HAVE HEARD*

Hebrews 2:1
[1]Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.
Scripture speaks of vessels that are leaking. Vessels that do not hold substance for long. That is not how a child of God should live. We do not carry anointing today and lose it the next day because that's not how the counsel of God stands. God's counsel stands immutable. That means it stands unchangeable.
So when we hear the gospel we should make sure that we be careful lest we allow these things to leave our minds. That means you can receive an amazing revelation and amazing truth that's meant to change your generation, but because you are nonchalant you distance yourself from it. God cannot take away what he's given you in the realm of gifting and calling but you can refuse it.
Now many times we refuse the things of God by our response to the revelation and word he sends. You can receive a word of knowledge or of wisdom that's meant to save your family from a financial crisis but because you are too caught up in the things of the world you forget about the thing God has revealed. When you do that you forsake your own mercy.
This is not something that the devil does. The devil cannot let the things you have heard to slip. Only you can do that, when the Bible speaks of him being a thief and stealing from you. The way he steals is that he takes your attention, he cannot hold God's word away from you. He can only hold your mind away from the word he does this by all the distractions he sets in your way. As a child of God learn to keep focused on the messages that come from God. Whether by another man or in the dealings with God alone. He doesn't appear the same way, that has been proven but he surely does appear. Be keen not to miss him in the familiar.

*Prayer*
Loving God, loving father. Thank you for your word. Thank you for teaching us that we have the responsibility to grapple your word and take it violently for the kingdom is taken by force. We refuse to be distracted but we build a life of constant focus on you lord. You're not just our saviour but our lord.
Amen.
