THE JUSTIFICATION OF FAITH

Romans 1:17

[17]For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

Faith is what makes us righteous before God. Simply believing in Jesus as your Lord and saviour makes you God's very own righteousness. Many think that if attaining salvation is that easy that means maintaining it will be a problem, but the scripture says that the just which have now believed shall live by faith.

It is not your responsibility and duty to maintain any standards, leave that to God. Your place is prayer because in prayer you are built up in the inner man to affect change in your physical body. This is a work of grace, not of self effort.

If you are struggling with habits in your body, God expects you to live by faith. He wants you to believe in your heart that you are free and confess it with your mouth. Then behave and speak as one that is free even if physically you may still bear that habit or weakness. This is what it means to kill the body by the spirit. You mature your mind in the spirit more than the physical.

This is not as some may think, a licence to sin. This is a free invitation into the life of grace whereby you nolonger do anything on your own but you allow Christ to work in you as you believed to receive him. Hallelujah.

Prayer.

Loving father I thank you for making me free by faith in your son Jesus Christ. I am your righteousness in Christ Jesus and this is not connected in anyway with my present physical state of being but it is from eternity that I draw this revelation. In Jesus' name amen.
